Fall season offers many classic foods that are not only delicious, but healthy for the cardiovascular system, veins and arteries! Try and include these four fall foods into your diet for healthy legs!

Pumpkin

Pumpkin seeds can offer many health benefits for your heart. Like many nuts and seeds, pumpkin seeds are naturally rich in certain plant-based chemicals called Phytosterols that have been shown to reduce “bad” cholesterol levels. Roasted pumpkin seeds can be added to many dishes such as salads, cereals or breads.

Avocado

Avocados contains many nutrients, including high amounts of both vitamin C and vitamin E, which are essential for optimal vascular health. Avocados also contain a high concentration of glutathione, one of the most powerful of all antioxidants. Avocados can be eaten on their own, made into guacamole dip or added to salads.

Apples

Apples contain a flavonoid called rutin, which is one of the best substances for vein and artery health. Rutin protects blood vessels, reduces the risk of blood clots and significantly reduces one’s risk of developing varicose veins.

Kale

Kale season is in the fall. Kale contains large amounts of vitamins A, C, K—essential minerals such as potassium, iron, copper, as well as omega-3 acids. Copper is an essential mineral needed for maintaining the health of veins. Kale can be juiced, steamed, sautéed and stir fried, or freshly added to salads.
